Question Why does the screen freeze when I'm on a call?

I have a Samsung M11, with Android 10 from the factory.

Since I updated to Android 11, when I'm on a call... the screen locks (lock screen) and the call screen appears in the top status bar.

And when I want to end the call myself... I have to unlock the screen, push the status bar down... and press the red end call button.

WHY does my screen freeze and disappear when I'm on a call? How do I disable this?

All I want is for it to be like before: when I'm on a call, the proximity sensor closes the screen. That much. DO NOT block it altogether.

Has anyone else experienced this with Android 11?
